Liverpool-hailing rising psych-rock artist Captain Crocodile returns with “My Black Lungs”, a brooding single that sets the stage for his upcoming EP, Moon Presence, arriving January 17th.

Led by Jack Norrie, Captain Crocodile has captivated audiences with his evocative blend of raw psychedelia and introspective lyrics. Now collaborating with his live band—Aaron Stafford (guitar), Emiliano Del Toro (drums), and Rohan Kapoor (bass)—he delivers an immersive and thoughtfully textured sound.

“My Black Lungs” opens with modulated guitar swells, warm bass, and subtle synths, accompanied by Norrie’s melancholic vocals. As the track unfolds, layers of fuzzy guitar and cymbal-heavy drums build to a climactic, gritty crescendo. Inspired by artists like King Krule and Fontaines D.C., the track explores self-doubt and coping mechanisms, with Norrie reflecting on a smoking habit formed to manage stress and anxiety.

Self-produced by Norrie, “My Black Lungs” and the upcoming EP weave post-punk, lo-fi psychedelia, and indie rock into a compelling sonic journey. With past successes, including opening for Nightbus and Stealing Sheep, Captain Crocodile is a name to watch.
